Mission Statement

To build on and strengthen existing resources and help to equip citizens of Moose Jaw with basic literacy skill competencies in reading and writing, contributing to a skilled labour force and creating a better quality of life in Moose Jaw.

Vision

Every person will have access to the opportunities and supports they need to function in a literate community as students, family members, workers, seniors and lifelong learners.

Objectives

• To initiate well-coordinated literacy programs

• workplace essential skills
• adult literacy
• Promote and advocate the benefits of family literacy and the value of participating in family literacy programs,
• To deliver quality family literacy programs and services,
• To provide learning opportunities that increase the knowledge base of family literacy practitioners and support a community of family literacy practitioners,
• Use resources and collaborative approaches to work with community, and
• To develop the literacy skills of the adults in the family unit.
